FAQs - Ozzi Kleen Sewage Treatment system - Wastewater recycling for your home

Q What is an Ozzi Kleen RP10?

Answer: Ozzi Kleen RP10 is a 10 person Home Sewage Treatment system, utilising the Fully Aerobic Activated Sludge technology used in most modern day town and city council sewage treatment plants.

Q What does it do?

Answer: It captures and treats all household wastewater from the kitchen, bathrooms, toilets, laundry etc, for reuse on gardens/lawns.

Q How does it work?

Answer: As soon as you press the button or pull the plug, the wastewater enters the Ozzi Kleen RP10 home sewage treatment plant to begin the aerobic treatment process. This is where a complete digestion of organic waste takes place in the oxygen rich environment, using naturally occurring bacteria. The organic waste entering the tank is treated to high quality water for reuse. This water is decanted and disinfected, then goes into an effluent holding compartment. When a sufficient amount of water has entered this compartment, a float switch turns the effluent pump on and pumps the treated water out through the irrigation line onto gardens and lawns.

Q What is the Aerobic Process?

Answer: Aerobic means the presence of oxygen. This treatment process is very efficient, with breakdown occurring in a matter of hours in the oxygen-enriched environment. The same process is used by modern day council treatment plants world-wide.

Q What is a HSTP?

Answer: A HSTP standards for home sewage treatment plant. There are many names used within the industry to describe a sewage treatment system. The systems can also be referred to as a waste water treatment system, a sewage treatment unit (STU), aerated treatment unit (ATU), aerated waste water treatment system (WWTP), or an on-site sewage facilities (OSSF).

Q What is Effluent?

Answer: Effluent is the treated water at the end of the treatment process.

Q Who does the installation?

Answer: Your Ozzi Kleen distributor can co-ordinate your installation for you or you can simply have your own plumber carry out the installation.
